I am pleased to announce that in cooperation with SWTC, CESA will once again be offering an Information Technology Youth Apprenticeship Program for the 2016 – 17 school year!
CESA 3 is promoting the opportunity for next year’s high school juniors and seniors to take the IT Concepts (10-107-146, 3 SWTC credits) course from SWTC in the Fall of 2016 FOR FREE! Students in IT Concepts will explore information systems, operating system management, GUI, and command-line interfaces, Hardware components, and use of file systems, files and file attributes and data communications. Topics from office productivity software, Internet applications and basic concepts of network protocols will be explored. Students will manage computer systems using Linux and Windows. If the student response exceeds 13 students, SWTC will provide the class in a blended format, if the class enrollment is less than 13 (and higher than 3 enrollments as this is their minimum enrollment for online classes) SWTC will be providing the class in an online format. Happy CTE Month! Riverdale is a member of the BOOST Consortium which offers students classes from other school districts (Mineral Point, Pecatonica, Highland, Kickapoo). We will also have courses available through Southwest WI Technical College and UW Platteville from time to time. The coursebook for the school district consortium is on my Scheduling page which can be found under the High School heading of this website. Please check out the offerings and let me know if you are interested in taking a course. Most generally, we allow students to take courses that we do not offer here at Riverdale. We may allow a similar course to ours if a student has a scheduling conflict. Please see Mrs. Troxel's Scheduling page for the BOOST courses currently being offered for next year. This is a document that will be updated regularly until all school schedules are set (end of the school year).
