Southern Region Health Careers Camp - June 25-28th, 2017
in Platteville, WI. Scenic Rivers AHEC expanded our camp offerings to the southern part of our service region in 2015. This camp follows much of the same structure designed and successfully implemented for the Northern Region Health Careers Camp; taking students that are interested in healthcare careers and introducing them to a variety of fields in their interest. This camp is located at UW-Platteville and includes travel to explore facilities like Southwest Technical College's health career training labs. Additionally, participants will visit and have hands on experiences at Southwest Health System, Grant Regional Health Center, Grant County Health Department, and UW-Platteville's Anatomy & Physiology and Exercise Science labs. High school students ages 16 and older are eligible to participate in Scenic River's Health Careers Camp at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville campus. The camp application consists of a student essay and application, as well as two teacher references. Cost of the camp is $95 which includes three nights lodging, nine meals, snacks, materials and program transportation. Financial assistance may be available- contact Executive Director Laura Pettersen at [email protected] Applications are due Friday, March 24, 2017. Register to attend Student Shadow Day at the
