Homecoming the first full week of school has definitely made the start of the school year hectic, but fun! Here is a list of senior dates that I have on the calendar so far:
September 15, 2017 - date that most colleges and universities begin processing college applications for next fall. Any senior who plans to apply to college should be doing that now. Please see me with any questions!
October 23, 2017 - This year's Financial Aid Night Presentation will be in room 102 beginning at 6:00pm. Joy Kite will be here again to talk with seniors and their parents about applying for federal financial aid. Students who do not qualify for grants still need to apply in order to access federal student loans. Beginning last year, the application is now open October 1 so taxes from the year before are used on the form. Please plan to attend this meeting! It is about 2.5 hours long, but full of extremely helpful information and updates.
Priority dates for Financial Aid to be submitted for the UW System: https://uwhelp.wisconsin.edu/pay-for-college/about-financial-aid/
February 27 or 28, 2018 - these are the dates of Junior state testing (ACT & Workkeys). One of these two days (TBA at a later date), Seniors who plan to apply for scholarships will spend the morning (4 hours) with Mrs. Troxel working on scholarships. They will work on the local scholarship application and any other scholarships they may have questions about, etc. This has been a very successful day for seniors who have participated in the past.
March 16, 2018 - Local scholarship applications are due to Mrs. Troxel by the end of the day!
May 16, 2018 - Scholarship Night begins at 6:00pm and is held in the Elementary School Commons. This is a night that seniors and parents look forward to attending. Scholarship winners are announced here!
May 26, 2018 - The big day; GRADUATION!
These are the dates on the calendar that I want seniors to be aware of at this time. Please check this page for updates as the year progresses.
Mrs. Troxel is the 7-12 School Counselor. Please check often for updates.
