I grew up on a dairy farm near Woodman, WI and attended school in Boscobel. I am the oldest of 5 children, the mother of two boys and the aunt of nineteen children. I always wanted to work with kids and help them in some way. I began college at UW-Richland transferring to UW-Platteville after two years. I earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1995, then continued my schooling at UW-Platteville earning a Master's Degree in School Counseling May of 1998. I began my career as the K-4 and 9-12 School Counselor at Black Hawk in South Wayne, WI. When the first of our two sons was born, we moved back to Southwest Wisconsin and I was the 5-8 School Counselor at River Ridge in Bloomington, WI for the 2002-2003 school year and was lucky enough to join the Wauzeka-Steuben District, the same district my husband worked for, in 2003. We are working together again for the Riverdale School District, both joining this staff in 2014. The Riverdale School District School Counseling Program is committed to working with all students to provide the tools necessary for academic, career, personal, and social growth by collaborating with staff, parents, and the community. Our Comprehensive School Counseling Program supports students by involving family, school staff, and community in assuring academic success for ALL students. When supported by the entire school and community, 100% of the students in the school participate in the program. Below is an excerpt from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction explaining the vision of Wisconsin School Counseling Program. This website contains guidance I reference when working to make plans for the school counseling program. I am looking forward to the changes and challenges as they come and continuing to support student growth through the school counseling program.
