Home Health United-Hospice would like to invite children ages 6-14 who are suffering ramifications of losing a loved one, to Camp GLOW-Giving Loved Ones Wings.
Camp GLOW is a grief support day camp for kids ages 6-14 and their parent(s) or guardian(s) who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. Since children often experience grief differently than adults, Camp GLOW is designed to specifically address children’s grief, with Grief/Spiritual Counselors and trained volunteers on-hand to offer individualized attention if needed. Breakout sessions include creating memory boxes to hold remembrances of their loved one and scrapbooking to create visual memories.
Grief support sessions will also be offered for parent(s) or guardian(s) during the camp, led by HHU-Hospice Grief Coordinator Ridley Usherwood. Ridley has been leading Community Grief Support groups throughout our service area for several years.
Camp GLOW is scheduled for March 19, 2016 at Platteville High School from 10a-3pm. Lunch, drinks, and snacks throughout the day are provided, and the camp is offered free of charge thanks to the generous support of donors to the Home Health United-Visiting Nurse Service Foundation.
Space is limited, and registration is required by March 16, 2016. If you have general questions regarding Camp GLOW please contact either Lindsay Guyer at 608-778-9091or Vicki Troy at 608-732-8760. If you have questions about registration or to request a registration form please call Ridley Usherwood at 608-241-6936, or visit our website atwww.homehealthunited.org/hospice/campglow.
Mrs. Troxel is the 7-12 School Counselor. Please check often for updates.
